Mr. Uwe Combüchen is a certified data protection advisor (CIPP/E by the IAPP) and has been admitted to the bar as an attorney since 1994. In 2024, Mr. Combüchen completed the training program “Data Protection and IT Law in Business” offered by the Beck Academy of the C. H. Beck publishing house in cooperation with FOM University in Munich, during which he wrote a final thesis on the personal reference of LLM systems under Professor Helfrich. Since 2025, he has been working as a Senior Consultant for BHO Consulting GmbH.

Prior to joining BHO Consulting, Mr. Combüchen served for many years as Managing Director of Ceemet, the European employers’ organization for the metal and electrical industry, based in Brussels. In this role, he represented the interests of over 200,000 companies in the M+E industry, including in the legislative process for the GDPR. From 2022 to 2023, Mr. Combüchen worked as EU Advocacy Counsel for the UK-based Institute of Export & Trade, aiming to foster constructive dialogue between British industry and EU institutions as well as key stakeholders, such as Europe’s largest seaport. His focus areas included the EU Customs Reform and the Union Customs Code Single Window environment.

Mr. Combüchen is fluent in English and French and has basic knowledge of Italian and Spanish.
